Professional Practice: Filming The Social

On the 28th of September myself, Jamie and Tory filmed the social event for our professional practice. We were assisted by some of the first years and another second year. During this event I filmed the amusements, atmosphere and a couple of interviews whilst the others got footage of the acts on stage at different angles. One of the main things that I filmed amusement wise was the ferris wheel. I filmed this at three different times in the day, in the morning, at sunset and at night, I felt that this would be a good way to show how the festival changes throughout the day.
However I felt that at the start of the day was pretty slow as not many people were around at the start of the day which made it hard to get the full atmosphere across on camera but fortunately by 14:30 the festival really picked up and I was able to get some amazing shots which I thought would fit well with the music in the edit.
Throughout the day I was always thinking about what shots would fit well with the edit and how I could get the atmosphere and fun across. I think the only issue that I came across was during the interviews. Most people were uneasy about being on camera but the ones who weren't were not giving great answers. In total I was able to get one or two usable interviews but alot of good shots in my opinion. I will see how well it goes in the edit though!

  1. Can you show me the research which informs this commission as well as describing what happened - i.e. evidence of your exploration of this area of work as well as the methodologies behind your decisions. All the prep work etc needs to be evidenced.
